The CPU card players aren't nearly as bad in Red Dead Redemption 2's single-player as they were in the first game, but nothing beats playing against a real person. Since you can buy goods in the game with gold (which will eventually be available to purchase with real-life currency), then presumably sell them back to the store for cash, letting players bet in an online game of Poker or Blackjack might be a little too close to the real thing for Rockstar.
